Awareness Campaign Against Drug Abuse by NCC Wings of Modi College

The NCC Wings of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today organized awareness Campaign against abuse of drugs which was focused at engaging the students with different techniques and methods for control and prevention of drugs
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar inaugurated the programme and said that awareness is the key for fight against this widely prevalent social and economic problem. He also motivated the students to be disciplined and focused on their careers and future plans.
The main speakers in this programme was Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Head, Department of Chemistry and CTO Dr. Rohit Sechdeva. Dr. Rajeev elaborated the composition and etiology of different drugs, their mental, physical, economic and social impacts and role of our youth in prevention of the drugs. He also discussed various techniques, methods and role of counselling and de-addition therapy.
CTO Dr. Rohit Sachdeva also discussed with the students the role of behavioral and rehabilitation policies in de-addition campaigns. He motivated the students to adopt a healthy and disciplined physical and mental health strategies and role of positive approach towards life.
The vice-Principal of the college Prof. Jasvir Kaur, CTO Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Dr. Nidhi Rani Gupta also motivated the students for early detection of drug abuse and its various implications.
In the end of this programme all cadets took a pledge ‘Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs’.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Gurdeep Singh, HOD, and Department of Punjabi. He motivated the students to respect the legacy of Indian revolutionaries.
